This is a fantastic putter for those golfers who need some extra forgiveness with their club. It has a large face that makes it very easy to hit the ball and guide it properly.

Despite the large size of the head, the entire club feels pretty light, coming in at just over a pound. It is 34 inches long and is about average price, but it will wear out pretty quick.

You can still use it once it starts to show wear, but don’t expect it to look pristine for very long.

Most golf clubs are designed to work with one hand or the other, but this one works with both. It is lightweight, yet well balanced. This is by far one of the simplest putters you can get, as well as one of the most affordable. That being said, it doesn’t offer much in the way of features. This is a bare-bones putter that will last for a while and serve you well, as long as you are not looking for anything fancy.

Here is another great putter in the low cost range. It is sleek and stylish and built to last for a while, but it won’t be as durable or as fully featured as some of the other Pinemeadow options that cost quite a bit more.

This is a simple mallet putter that is great for starting out, and it includes some alignment features that help you to hit the ball straighter and with greater control. It is tour weighted for a great feel that makes it a joy to use.

This Callaway club is a bit more expensive than the ones we have looked at so far, but it is also far more durable. Expect it to last for years with no significant wear, but be wary if you are a newcomer to the game. This is designed for pros primarily, with few concessions to beginners.

If you look this particular putter up, you will see that it has a very small face, so it can be tough to hit the ball, but the carefully calculated weight and comfortable feel make it an absolute blast to play with. You’ll just have to determine if it is right for your skill level.

This one from TaylorMade is pretty expensive as well, and it is designed for excellent stability. That means better control and a lower chance that you will mis-hit or slice the ball. It’s a great putter for beginners and experts alike, and the precision design ensures that the ball rolls off smoothly from the face.

The only real problem with this club is the grip, which may not be to everyone’s liking. The manufacturer has had some problems providing the grip it advertises for this putter, resulting in some customers receiving a different grip than they were expecting, so you ought to be aware of that.

What to Consider Before You Buy

You’ll want to keep a few factors in mind as you try to find the best golf putters. Here are some important things to consider as you shop for putters:

  • Face Size– If you have trouble hitting the ball with an average putter, then you should consider buying one that has a larger than average face. This gives you more room for mistakes and ensures that you are likely to hit balls that you would otherwise miss with a different kind of putter.
  • Play Style– The way you play determines what kind of putter you should be using. The way you stand, the way you swing your club and how you line up your ball are all contributing factors to the kind of club that you should be picking. If you can, try out some different putters before making your decision to see how they feel in your hands and how they work with your play style.
  • Weight– How heavy or light a putter is will determine how it swings. If it doesn’t feel natural, then you will have a hard time getting the ball where you want it to go. The PGA says you should consider the weight of the putter in relation to its length, with shorter putters benefitting from heavier heads.
  • Head Shape– There are a few different kinds of head shapes, such as mallet heads and blade heads. You will probably want to experiment a bit with the different options to see what works best for you. You may even know what kind of head you prefer, but be sure to factor that into your decision so that you use a putter that is comfortable for you.

Final Thoughts

While putters may be easy to use, they are not all the same. Some have larger faces than others and some are heavier or lighter than others. Which one you should pick depends on a number of factors that we will get into in the moment, but we want you to realize the kind of impact that a good putter has on your game.

It comes down to your putting skill level, but part of it is dependent on your putter. If you have a great putter, then getting the ball in the hole is going to be much easier.
